New Zealanders in the Spanish Civil War

  • Studio One 1 Ponsonby Road Auckland, Auckland, 1011 New Zealand (map)

Who would have believed it?  Kiwis not only took part in the Spanish Civil War of 1936, some actually played an heroic and key role in the struggle to save Spain from a fascist coup.

That's me with drama director Daniel Fernandez and actor Adriana Yianacou on a production meeting at Ponsonby Rd's Bonita Bar. We're planning a round table discussion about the kiwi connection. Mark Derby author of Kiwi Companeras will be there.
